It made me think of a class in musical improvisation that I sat in on many years ago. The visiting artist, one of the greatest improvisers in classical style performing today, was sharing his techniques with a group of players. He said, "And if you make a mistake-- no, WHEN you make a mistake -- make it again. Then, it's not a mistake. It's the SUBJECT." The listener doesn't perceive it as a mistake, but as an interesting idea that will be developed further. Seems like this is what you observed in the Cirque Show: peak performers who have embraced mistakes, and kept the funny and interesting ones to add to the enjoyment of the experience. <BR/>Thanks for the great reminder. The more mistakes you make, the greater your value. Then you actually have some experience and wisdom to know how things can go wrong!
